Uniting Mongolia
With his new-found alliance with Ong Khan and a firm reputation, Temujin had amassed an army of over 20,000 men. His first target was the Tatars. Temujin was infuriated with them since they killed his father. Temujin ordered the death of every male Tartar, even children. The Tatars had been defeated by 1201. Ong was proud of Temujin and he was proclaimed his heir. This infuriated Ong's son, who plotted to assassinate Temujin. Temujin learned of this and quickly disposed of Ong's son. After the death of Ong Khan, Temujin was established as head of Ong Khan's coalition.
Temujin's next target was the Taichi'ud. Temujin felt betrayed by them after his capture, as they were previously allies. Their disloyalty angered Temujin and their punishment was dealt. All Tatar males were boiled alive, even children. Temujin continued in pursuit of his goal. Using his military genius he developed battle strategies to defeat even the strongest of armies. Temujin always made sure he had an edge over his opponent. Coordinating attacks, setting up a spy network and researching his opponent thoroughly before an attack. His army was made up of a swift and powerful cavalry. Many armies at that time did not have the advantage of using bows on horseback, unlike Temujin's army. The Mongolians had developed the composite bow, small enough to be used on horseback and stronger than the average longbow. Temujin always kept his soldiers well-equipped. This mixture of coordination and power made his army unstoppable.
Temujin's rapid conquests came to the world by shock. At this point Temujin had conquered most of Mongolia, soon the remaining tribes would recognize defeat and align with him. Temujin was then recognized as a universal ruler, an equal to god, he was now recognized as Genghis Khan.
